Autocad and Solidworks are cad tools used for the design and development of mechanical products. But they have different applications. Autocad is preferred for a 2D drawing online electrical design course and a non-parametric design approach. Whereas Solidworks is preferred for 3D Design and parametric design approach.

The significant difference between SolidWorks and AutoCAD is that AutoCAD was designed and developed as a 2D package and later evolved into a 3D package while SolidWorks was originally developed as 3D
