Our mission is to advance manufacturing through implementation of state-of-the-art robotic and industrial automation tools, for efficient and fully optimized quality and productivity. Through our creative and collaborative approach, we seek to break down the barriers that may inhibit the jump into available, reliable and useful technology.
When? How long has House of Design integrated robotic systems?
The owners of House of Design kicked off a relationship rooted in Robotics Integration in 2008, designing and constructing an overhead gantry robotic assembly machine for the Weyerhaeuser Company. Ben Blaine and Ryan Okelberry were Mechanical Engineers for the Weyerhaeuser Company, designing and integrating custom equipment for Engineered Lumber plants, and Shane Dittrich was the Lead Robotics Engineer for JLS Automation, the integration company for the project. In 2011, the team joined forces at Transform Solar as the Automation Development Team, creating a game changing robotic pick and place system for the unique SLIVER Solar Cell Technology, and forming the team structure for House of Design, starting on July 1, 2012.
Since 2012, House of Design has provided engineering consulting services, robotic system and machine vision integration for industries such as Aerospace, Precision Machined Components, Medical Device, Food Products, Electronics, and contract manufacturing organizations. Each of the House of Design owners brings over 14 years of Design and Integration experience.
How does House of Design develop and integrate robotic systems?
House of Design is an ABB Robotics System Integrator, specializing in pick and place applications with machine vision integration.
- Plug-and-Play Solutions
A key House of Design strategy for robotic system integration is modular and mobile systems, with off-the-shelf equipment developed in a “Plug-and-Play” fashion. This allows for fast installations with the capability for modular system changes for future improvement.
We utilize ABB Robots due to their world-class customer service, wide range of robots, ease-of-use, and the history of manufacturing a quality product used world-wide.
- Machine Vision
House of Design has experience integrating Cognex and Keyence Machine Vision Systems. Our experience includes inspection, gauging, and communication with robots for pick and place.
House of Design incorporates SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling and ABB Robot Studio for design, customer communication and off-line programming of the system.
House of Design aims to utilize standard components, aligning with our customers on common vendors and spare parts. Where possible, we prefer to use off-the-shelf components, rather than designing custom components. Our goal is to solve our customer’s problems with the lowest costs and easiest implementation.
- Project Management
We efficiently execute our projects with dedicated project managers. We aim to exceed our customer’s expectation with easy to understand communication tools and exceeding target dates with our commitment to excellence.
House of Design has partnered with other engineering firms to provide the highest level of customer service, competitive pricing, and introduce value-add technology for our customers. We partner with 4 CNC Machining and Fabrication businesses in the Boise, Idaho area, 2 Mechanical Design firms in the Boise, Idaho area, and a partner PLC programming and Electrical Engineering firm in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
House of Design and Rekluse Motorsports, in Boise, Idaho, have combined efforts to create a new company, VersaBuilt.
VersaBuilt was borne out of a robotic integration project by House of Design for Rekluse Motorsports to tend a HAAS DT-1 Vertical Machining Center CNC, loading and unloading 5 part families with 2 operation machining.
